While there are many skilled and ethical astrologers out there, not all readings are created equal. Some astrologers use fear-based tactics, over promise certainty, or provide readings that are so vague they’re essentially useless. Here are some red flags to watch out for before booking a session:
🚩 1. They Promise “Fated” Events with Absolute Certainty
A skilled astrologer can help you understand timing, patterns, and opportunities—but an exceptionally small amount of astrologers can tell you what will happen with perfect results. Certain Vedic (Indian) techniques apparently are accurate for this. If you are working with a western, tropical astrologer these kinds of statements are a red flag. If someone says, “You will meet your soulmate on October 17th” or “Your business is doomed because of this transit,” that’s a huge red flag. Western astrology is a tool for navigating possibilities, not dictating a fixed fate.
🚩 2. The Reading Is Vague or Generic
If an astrologer gives broad, one-size-fits-all statements like, “You’re an Aries, so you’re naturally independent,” or “Pluto in your 8th house means you’re going through a transformation,” without any deeper analysis or personal application, the reading probably won’t be valuable. Those statements aren't false, they're just not valuable. Astrology is most powerful when it’s applied specifically to your chart, not just a textbook definition.

No ethical astrologer should make you feel trapped, helpless, or terrified about your chart or upcoming transits. Statements like:
“Your Saturn return will ruin your life.”
“You have a bad Mars placement—relationships will always be bad for you.”
“This Pluto transit is going to destroy everything.”

🚩 4. They Have No Testimonials or Client Feedback
A skilled and experienced astrologer should have some form of feedback from past clients—whether it’s on their website, social media, or a third-party platform (like Google Business, or Yelp).
They have zero reviews or testimonials anywhere.
They discourage feedback or don’t allow client testimonials to be posted.
Their website or social media is brand new with no evidence of past work - they need to do some readings for people for free to practice before you pay them!
🚩 5. They Try to Sell You "Anti-Curses," Fixes," or Expensive Add-Ons
Some unethical practitioners prey on fear and insecurity by claiming you have a “negative energy” or a “bad transit” that requires an extra service to fix. Legitimate astrology readings don’t require add-on purchases to “protect” you.
There is such a thing as astrological magical talismans, but they should not be TELLING you that you NEED them to solve a problem. "Astrology problems" can be dealt with by aligned action and perspective shifts alone - you do not need someone to 'FIX YOU'. 🚩 6. They Market Themselves as an Astrologer—But Aren’t Actually Doing Astrology
Not everyone who calls themselves an astrologer is actually providing an astrology-based consultation. Some people use astrology as a buzzword while primarily offering psychic readings, tarot pulls, energy work, or intuitive guidance.
They call themselves an astrologer but provide no actual chart analysis.
They rely entirely on intuition, channeling, or spirit guides instead of using planetary placements and aspects.
They list “Psychic & Astrologist” as a combined service (which is common on platforms like Facebook but can be misleading) - are they both? Ask them specifically how they come to their astrological guidance that they give. If they don't give some type of description of reading a circle chart with your specific birth details and navigating geometric conversations that the planets are having - they're probably not really an astrologer.
Their readings feel generic, vague, or more like a cold reading than a structured analysis of your chart.

You need electional services for exact timing for major events (like weddings, business launches, etc). My predictive offerings focus on themes and cycles rather than pinpointing specific dates for decisions or events.
You’re seeking guidance for relationship astrology (synastry or composites) or financial astrology. While I touch on these areas in the context of your natal chart, I don’t currently offer full consultations on these topics.
